Would you recommend getting involved with clubs and leadership activities if I haven't already? I'm in 11th grade

Absolutely! Better late than never! Getting really involved now will put you in a position by the end of this academic year to hopefully boost yourself up into a leadership position! So definitely try to stay active and involved in clubs - not just by signing in but by getting involved!

How do I know if a BS/MD program is better for me than just doing pre-med at college?

Amy, that's a great question! So much so that we'll feature our next blog post about it soon!

But in short - if you KNOW you want to be a doctor, then the BS/MD path is definitely the one you want to take. This will save you from spending and focusing so much time with extracurriculars, studying for your MCAT, and distinguishing yourself from other pre-meds. Even with this, you still won't be guaranteed a spot in medical school. It's incredibly difficult these days...so having a guarantee right out of high school is incredibly beneficial. So in short: if you know you want to be a doctor at this young age, go the direct BS/MD way!

Come back later this week for a full post about this information!

How about talking about a plan to prepare for BS/D program for someone in sophomore or junior year? How he has to tailor his academic curriculam, extra curricular activiteis, what kind of research activity that he/she can involve his/herself outside school , etc., Like a two year plan for aspiring BS/MD students! How about that?

Thanks
